About Durreshahwar K. Khan, MD

  • Dr. Khan grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, a “wonderful coastal, cosmopolitan city with great culture, food, and beauty!” In her free time, Dr. Khan enjoys playing with her daughter, reading, taking nature walks with her family, and “food!” Her favorite local spot is Lady Bird Lake and the park – she says it’s a great spot to relax, rewind, and enjoy nature and the city around it. Fun fact – Dr. Khan enjoys elocution and debated twice (won once) at the national level, at the All Pakistan Annual English Debate!

When I was in school, I wanted to be an astronaut! But later in life, things changed for me … I came across a wonderful Biology professor who made me re-think my career choices. I was really drawn toward human physiology and pathology; hence, medicine became my obvious choice. I believe in a holistic approach, treating not just the problem. The human body is a miraculous machine, and we have to look at the entire machine and take care of all of it. I am a strong proponent of preventive medicine and believe that we have miles to go with this approach.

  • April 9, 2024

I was called back quickly, but that’s apparently because Dr. Khan doesn’t take time with her patients.

  • April 9, 2024

Great overall care and received two referrals for specialized treatment. Dr. Khan is very supportive and helpful.

  • April 8, 2024

The visit was very short and the doctor a bit brusque. I hadn’t slept well in days and had a bit of trouble thinking clearly and a bit more patience would have been appreciated. The doctor was clearly knowledgeable.
