About Erin F. Dunlap, MD

  • Born to a Longhorn and raised in Texas, Dr. Dunlap has a lifelong love of Austin. Choosing to become an Aggie (whoop!) partly because “the boys were nicer,” she ultimately came back to Texas to complete her medical degree and Orthopaedic Surgery residency. Married in 2017 (to a Longhorn), Dr. Dunlap and her husband spend most of their free time playing with their dogs, enjoying Austin culture, and playing golf or tennis whenever time allows. Former captain of both her cheerleading and tennis teams, Dr. Dunlap is now the definition of a weekend warrior and understands all the bumps, bruises, and breaks along the way.

I believe in a compassionate and collaborative approach to patient care. I like to spend time with my patients and really listen to them and how their symptoms are affecting their daily lives. We then talk through their diagnosis and treatment options before coming to a decision together that best fits their needs, whether operative or non-operative. I fell in love with medicine and became an Orthopaedic Surgeon because I want to impact my patients’ quality of life in a meaningful way. By replacing a hip or knee, I help relieve pain and allow people freedom in activities they enjoy. I am proud to be the only female fellowship-trained hip and knee joint replacement surgeon in Austin and the surrounding areas, helping my patients get back to what they love doing best and live a happier, healthier life.

This is not a big problem at all, but it applies to all the ARC locations we’ve visited. The way that all the front desk people are lined up across the front makes it difficult to know which one to approach to check in and out. They’re all polite about it, but there’s no one person keeping an eye out for people coming to the desk and directing them, and there’s no signage to help. And, since they all seem to take incoming calls, there’s times when no one seems to be available.

Dr. Dunlap explained really well the problem I am having and the surgery procedure when needed. I’m very impressed with her and am glad to have her as my doctor.

The phone system is incredibly frustrating - long hold times and always multiple transfers … not well done there at all
