ARC is happy to announce that Nathan W. Anderson, MD, Family Medicine, has joined the team at ARC Bastrop.
"I chose a career in medicine for many reasons… but one moment in which a physician treated me with simple human kindness when I was at a low point definitely influenced my decision," says Austin native Dr. Anderson. "I chose Family Medicine because I think it's ideally situated as a "non-specialty" to have an impact on families and the community."
Dr. Anderson says that he sees himself as an advisor to his patients. He says, "My job is to explain the science and medicine of illness and health in terms that make sense and then provide advice and options for how to treat illness and maintain health." Dr. Anderson adds, "I am here to help people align their health care with their beliefs and values."
Eat real food
In terms of areas of interest within his practice, Dr. Anderson says, "I practice full-spectrum women's health and take care of patients of all ages. I have a strong interest in LGBTQ+ healthcare and am proud to support my local community."
Dr. Anderson's health tip for patients? "Eat real food… not too much… mainly plants… and stay active."
In his free time, Dr. Anderson says he likes to "spend time with friends and family, listen to a small, but growing collection of vinyl, make excellent cocktails, renovate my 180-year-old home, and stay active so I can continue to enjoy these things for as long as possible."
