About Richard A. Stoebner, MD, FACC

  • Dr. Stoebner has relocated his practice from ARC Senior Care but will continue to see patients at ARC Cedar Park Building B, and is currently accepting new patients. He is also available for follow-up visits via telemedicine. His last day seeing patients at ARC Senior Care was on Friday, June 28, 2024. Read letter.

Dr. Stoebner grew up in Temple, TX. When he isn’t working, he can often be found outside running, hiking, camping, or paddling. Among his favorite area locales are the greenbelts and trails, especially the Roy and Ann Butler Hike & Bike Trail around Lady Bird Lake in Austin.

My father, an uncle, and several cousins were all physicians, another cousin was a nurse and dean of a local nursing school, so I had a lot of exposure to healthcare professions growing up. In my practice, I try to listen first. Knowing a patient’s concern is of obvious importance in determining how to help them. People appreciate being heard and understood. Addressing the lifestyle in terms of habits, diet, and exercise is another very important step. The need for medical testing or treatment can often be minimized if all of this is in order.

Treadmill Stress Testing

Treadmill Stress Testing

A treadmill test helps determine how well your heart handles work. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more oxygen, so the heart must pump more blood. The test can show if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries that supply the heart. It also helps doctors know the kind and level of exercise appropriate for a patient.
