About Alexis C. Wilson, DO, MS, FAAP, IBCLC

  • Dr. Wilson is an ARC Pediatrics physician who sees patients at ARC clinics as needed.

Dr. Wilson grew up in southern California, and moved to San Antonio for her residency training. When she is not working, Dr. Wilson enjoys exploring new eateries with her husband, who is also in medicine, and Tex-Mex has become a favorite food. They enjoy having season tickets to see plays and musicals at local theaters. Dr. Wilson is also an active member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association by participating in Bible studies, as well as local and global medical mission outreach events. She names the Hideout Theatre on Congress Avenue in Austin as her “go-to” place to support local improv and to “catch some good laughs from the creative and talented people of Austin.”

I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician since I was a child, as I have three younger siblings and therefore felt a sense of responsibility to protect and care for children. As a Christian healthcare physician, I believe medicine is truly a calling and a gift to be shared with others. I practice a patient-centered approach, as children often feel that many things are ‘happening to them’ and they have little say in their care. I enjoy finding ways to give kids choices during the exam to restore some of their sense of autonomy. This often turns into a fun interaction, such as asking, ‘Which ear should I look in first?’ I strive to make doctor visits a positive experience for all.
