The free community virtual health talk, on Thursday, August 26, at 5:30 pm, will offer information about Inspire Therapy, a new FDA-approved treatment for people with sleep apnea who have been unable to consistently use their CPAP device.
This small device is placed during a same-day, outpatient procedure. When you're ready for bed, simply click the remote to turn on Inspire. While you sleep, Inspire opens your airway, allowing you to breathe normally and sleep peacefully.
- Inspire works inside your body with your natural breathing process
- It delivers mild stimulation to key airway muscles, allowing the airway to remain open during sleep
- Inspire is controlled by a small handheld sleep remote
Dr. Joseph Leary, ENT specialist at ARC Far West Medical Tower, will discuss the therapy and how it works in the body to allow the airway to remain open during sleep. Dr. Leary and his ARC ENT colleague, Dr. John "Caleb" Simmons, are among only a few area ENTs who perform the procedure.
Admission is free and open to all. Register yourself and encourage family and friends who are interested to reserve a spot now!
