Starting this spring, some Austin employees will be able to skip a trip to the doctor's office or emergency room thanks to our new telehealth service, eMD Access.
Launched with technology company, CirrusMD, eMD Access is a digital healthcare service that companies in Central Texas can provide to their employees as an affordable premium benefit.
How Does eMD Access work?
Employees who sign up will have access to a team of ARC doctors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via secure text messaging, image sharing and video chat through our HIPAA-compliant mobile platform.
"Patients can work around their own schedules, avoid multiple calls to the doctor's office and not have to drive anywhere. For employers, this type of program can cut healthcare expenses, attract and retain talent, reduce work absenteeism and boost employee morale. It's a win win," said Dr. Jacob Childers, ARC Family Medicine physician.
For ARC, the reason for launching eMD Access is simple—reduce health care costs by helping people get the right kind of care, in the right place.
Often times people simply need assurance or advice about where and when to be seen for a simple issue. eMD Access makes this assistance immediately available to patients, saving time, reducing unnecessary or inappropriate visits, and providing peace of mind.
We're using technology to create more access and lower costs.
The new telehealth service for employers will be showcased alongside some of the most innovative companies in the world at SXSW's new SX Health and MedTech Expo from March 16-17, 2015.
