"I love working in pediatrics because I get to interact with patients at a critical time in their lives, where I can offer help and advice in a way that will hopefully last for years to come," says Dr. Walton. "I am also passionate about equipping parents with all the tools they need to raise a healthy child."
Listen first to solve problems
"My approach to helping any patient solve a problem is to listen first. Once we're on the same page, I will be much better able to offer exactly the kind of help your kids need," says Dr. Walton. He continues, saying, "I also prefer to develop a relationship with my patients and their families to last for years to come. I feel that if we know each other, we'll be better able to work together to help your kids feel better."
Dr. Walton's heath "tip" for patients of all ages, "Don't put Q tips in your ears!" He explains, "All it does is push the earwax deeper, creating a plug that can harden and block the ear canal. It also puts you at risk for a potentially dangerous eardrum injury. Earwax is there for a reason, and your body will take care of any excess without issue."
Of his free time, Dr. Walton says, "I love playing with my little dog Mochi, going hiking, spending time with family, reading, and writing music." "I have many fond memories of walking around Zilker Park and swimming in the Aquifer," says this Round Rock native. "More recently I've been enjoying Bull Creek Park. Be sure to check it out if you're looking for some lovely hikes."
