We are happy to welcome Jesse W. Dunkle, MD, MPH, Internal Medicine, to the team at ARC Far West. Dr. Dunkle is now scheduling appointments for clinic visits beginning September 14.
ARC Internal Medicine doctors are equipped to deal with any problem a patient brings, common or rare, simple or complex, one or many. Internists strive to educate their patients on wellness; their focus is on the care for the whole person, not just the illness.
"I see my role as helping patients understand their conditions and the resources they have available to them, then facilitating care to meet their specific goals and lifestyles," says Dr. Dunkle. He continues, "I am fully trained in adult internal medicine with additional pediatric/adolescent training and specific experience treating the LGBTQIA+ community, including addressing concerns and issues arising around sexual health, HIV prevention, and vaccine-preventable disease."
Understanding factors that affect your health
"When you're at an appointment, please DO share things about your lifestyle, your social obligations, work and home relationships, and recreations – these give me a fuller understanding of the factors that may be contributing to your health picture today and our treatment goals," advises Dr. Dunkle.
"When not working, I can be found near large bodies of water with friends — Lake Travis, Barton Creek, Hamilton Pool, etc. – likely behind a grill, or when home finding new cuisines to cook," says Dr. Dunkle. He adds, "I'm also cat dad to an awesome Nebelung named Nadja."
