With flu, COVID-19, and RSV circulating during the coldest months of the season, experiencing symptoms of a runny nose, sore throat, or cough can be a sign that you need to see a doctor or advanced practice clinician (APC) and/or get tested. At ARC Four Points, you may also have the opportunity to participate in clinical research for the SQNM Swab Sample Study.
The objective of the SQNM swab sample study is to collect swab samples from subjects experiencing symptoms of flu A, flu B, RSV, and/or COVID-19, which will support the development of a test to detect these viruses.
What to expect
We are currently seeking candidates for a clinical research study. During the study:
- Patients or their guardian will collect their nasal swab sample and the health care provider will collect a nasal swab sample
- Patients will provide information regarding their symptoms and the symptom onset, medications they are taking, and their medical history
- Participants will have the option of consenting to a blood draw for sampling
Eligibility criteria
All participants must:
- Be at least 2 years old
- Present to the clinic with symptoms of viral respiratory infection consistent with flu A, flu B, RSV and/or COVID-19, or have recently tested positive for flu A/B or RSV
- Read and understand written instructions in English
Enrolling in a study not only helps advance medical science, but also gives you access to specialized care and trial medications that may not be available outside a research study.
If you are eligible and accepted for enrollment into a clinical trial, you may also receive compensation for your time. To learn more about the studies and how to participate, call ARC Clinical Research at 737-247-7240.
