HIV/AIDS care and prevention
HIV/AIDS refers to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), the most advanced stages of an infection caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In recent years, anti-HIV medicine has made HIV a more treatable condition, allowing HIV-infected patients to focus more on quality of life.
At ARC, our physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs) work closely with you so you can stay healthy and active and prevent other illnesses. ARC also offers PrEP for people who do not have HIV to prevent getting HIV.
HIV/AIDS testing and care
As with many other conditions, finding HIV early offers more chances for successful care. ARC offers HIV testing.
ARC offers antiviral (or antiretroviral) medicines for HIV that can stop the virus from further harming the body. This allows some or all of the damage to be healed. Antiretroviral can allow people to live a normal life span and have a normal sex life and family life. Most people can get the virus under control within six months.
