About Sangeetha Mariappan, MD, MPH

  • Dr. Mariappan grew up in the metropolitan city of Chennai, India, and moved to the U.S. to complete her education. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, cooking, and doing Yoga. Among her favorite area spots are the Lady Bird Lake walking trail, Emma Long Park, and Hamilton Pool.

Service to humanity has been my childhood dream, and thus, I embarked on the medical profession years ago. My interests in personal, comprehensive, and continuing care for the individual and the community, disease prevention, and preventive medicine led me to choose a career in Family Medicine. I believe in working with the family and addressing the whole patient, influencing the well-being of the patient through active participation with them. I reach out to patients, immersing myself in understanding them in the context of their family and community, to achieve the best health outcome.

OVERALL PROVIDER RATING

Rating based on "Did the healthcare provider or doctor provide the care you expected?"

4.6out of 5

The doctor doesn’t seem very interested in helping and responds to everything with, “I don’t see anything,” even when you provide evidence. I thought a family doctor would be more willing to help and suggest an appointment with another specialist
