About Marjan A. Linnell, MD

  • Dr. Linnell was born in Tehran, Iran, but grew up in Austin, TX, from age six onward. When she’s not working, she can be found outside with her husband, toddler, and dogs. Or in the kitchen, since “I absolutely love to cook (but I’m a terrible baker!).” Dr. Linnell’s favorite outdoor spot is Zilker Park, where she spent many enjoyable hours at Barton Springs with her friends while growing up, and now loves the weekend train rides on the Zilker Zephyr with her son.

I chose a career in pediatrics because there has always been something really special to me about the hope and joy in children’s hearts. As a pediatrician, I get to see this every day, while making sure they are growing up to be healthy, happy adults. The most important part of caring for a patient is taking the knowledge I’ve gained in my training and tailoring that to the patient and their family. The best care is evidence-based, individualized care that a family is comfortable with and truly understands.

Dr. Linnell is amazing!! Helpful and encouraging for new parents. Great interactions with our 2 year old. Office staff and nurse are welcoming and respectful!

Dr. Linnell is just incrediblie! We had to bring our son in for a injury at school and she diagnosed him with having a concussion. As scary as that is for the parents she did an amazing job educating us on all the things to watch out for, how to help him recover and heal and when to go back to school or sports. She was wonderful with him, reassuring him that he will be ok and helping him understand the importance of a safe recovery despite wanting to get back to playing ball. She is so great, a 15 out of 10, A+++++ doctor that I tell every single one of my friends to bring their children to!

  • February 11, 2025

Waiting for the school note took longer than expected. The doctor did suggest to pop out of the room if that happens again so that we can get noticed. Otherwise it was a really informative and helpful visit.
