About Marjan A. Linnell, MD

  • Dr. Linnell was born in Tehran, Iran, but grew up in Austin, TX, from age six onward. When she’s not working, she can be found outside with her husband, toddler, and dogs. Or in the kitchen, since “I absolutely love to cook (but I’m a terrible baker!).” Dr. Linnell’s favorite outdoor spot is Zilker Park, where she spent many enjoyable hours at Barton Springs with her friends while growing up, and now loves the weekend train rides on the Zilker Zephyr with her son.

I chose a career in pediatrics because there has always been something really special to me about the hope and joy in children’s hearts. As a pediatrician, I get to see this every day, while making sure they are growing up to be healthy, happy adults. The most important part of caring for a patient is taking the knowledge I’ve gained in my training and tailoring that to the patient and their family. The best care is evidence-based, individualized care that a family is comfortable with and truly understands.

She is so sweet. Both of my kids request her for their annuals. She explains everything she does and why.

We love Dr. Linnell. She gives our son great care and has amazing rapport with him and us as parents. She answers all the questions we have and ensures we are confident in how we are raising our son. She spends an appropriate amount of time with us, too. I really like how she asks my son questions directly (such as questions about how he responds to safety situations). It’s empowering him to speak for himself and not a lot of adults allow kids to do that! She is a GEM.

Dr. Linnell is the best. We’re always comfortable bringing our kiddos to see her whether it’s a checkup or an illness. Our kiddos feel the same way as they are very comfortable around her and always get the care that they need. Even when my five year old pretends that he’s a dog, she is awesome at helping him with whatever he needs.

The staff at ARC is amazing! As a first time parent, we feel lucky to have found an office so welcoming and informative. Dr. Linnell answered all of our questions and was very sweet with our baby girl.
