The long wait for the doctor. But stuff happens. I was happy with the doctor

My feedback is on the ARC appointment booking system. Recently, due to my symptoms, I had to seek quick care and chose the "Illness & Injury, Nights & Weekends" option to book an appointment with whichever doctor was available earliest. However, if the doctor you see is not your primary care physician, the appointment is treated as a one-time visit with no follow-up. Some doctors even refuse to prescribe medication, and if they do, it is only a one-time prescription with no refills. When trying to book under the "New or Ongoing Problem" category, it takes weeks to get an appointment. Scheduling a physical exam would take months. This situation makes it difficult for patients like me, who haven't had medical needs for the last 4-5 years but now require care. I feel trapped in the system, especially since my symptoms may be challenging to diagnose and treat, potentially requiring more than one visit. The current system doesn't seem to accommodate patients without an established primary care doctor, leaving us without proper follow-up and continuity of care. I hope my feedback helps to improve the booking process for the benefit of all patients. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Every time I come in for an appointment, it’s always so easy. The front desk is always friendly, and very efficient. And of course I love my Dr and her assistant. I never feel rushed when I go in for an appointment.
