About Hetu Y. Parekh, MD

  • Dr. Parekh’s early years were spent in India, then in the U.S. in Chicago and Massachusetts. When he is not at work, he enjoys “anything outdoors,” whether just a walk in the neighborhood or hiking and picnicking with his family. Dr. Parekh also enjoys traveling, cooking, and “of course, eating at food trucks!” His favorite area spot is the hike-and-bike trail loop around Lady Bird Lake.

I chose medicine because it is one of the few careers so exclusively people-focused that I can talk to many different people each day and get to know them! After practicing general pediatrics for several years, I chose to become an allergist because I was seeing so many patients with allergy problems and really wanted to delve deeply into that specific area. I enjoy Allergy so much because treating people for their underlying condition with allergy drops or shots lets me get to the root cause of the problem instead of just giving a medication to put a ‘bandaid’ on the problem.

Dr. Parekh was very kind and took his time to listen to our story regarding my daughter’s food allergies. He was very sweet to my daughter who is almost 1.5 years ago. I feel good that he will help my daughter with her food allergy journey.

Everyone was very friendly, professional and understanding. Dr Parekh really listened to my concerns and came up with a good action plan to try to get to the bottom of my medical issues. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter are both patients of Dr Parekh and highly recommended him to me! Thank You

Dr Parekh is very personable and friendly. Too bad he’s not a general practitioner he would be excellent. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The nurse was exceptional too. I really enjoyed my visit and am looking forward to seeing what I’m allergic too! Thanks!!!

The amount of time between when I tried to make the appointment and the next available appointment

Both the doctor and the nurse/ medical assistant were so nice and incredibly helpful even though I was 10 minutes late due to traffic. I politely asked each of them to mask for our visit and the obliged without any issues. Some Providers get very mad when you make that request, but they were easy breezy about which I'm grateful for. Dr. Parekh is really smart and had a great energy that made the visit as enjoyable as a morning appt on no sleep can be.
