Internal Medicine Doctor Zayd N. Nashaat at ARC South 1st in Austin

ARC is pleased to announce that Zayd N. Nashaat, MD, Internal Medicine, has joined the team at ARC South 1st.

"Growing up I wanted to become a police officer," says Dr. Nashaat. "However, I chose a career in medicine to help people after my mother developed a severe illness and I witnessed firsthand how important it is to receive good and compassionate care and the positive effect that could have on patients and their families in easing their tension and suffering during difficult times of illness."

When explaining his philosophy of care, Dr. Nashaat says, "All patients deserve equal care and respect regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, social status or any other factor. All patients also have the right to complete information pertaining to their health." He continues, saying, "We as providers, owe it to patients to provide them with all the information needed, to help them be an active part in their healthcare decision making. We should always function as partners."

Making the right choice

Dr. Nashaat's special interests within his practice include Rheumatology, diabetes, and obesity medicine.

He shares this health tip, "The key to good health is making the right choices when it comes to diet, physical activities, stress/ anxiety management etc. Fortunately, the right choice doesn't always necessarily mean the expensive one!"

Dr. Nashaat has a myriad of interests, including long-distance cycling, chess, salsa dancing, swimming, cooking, traveling, activities with his two German shepherds, and exploring new places.
