Honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, January 20, we Americans pause to commemorate and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., honoring the life, legacy, achievements, and impact of the late social justice champion and Nobel Peace Prize winner.

We remember Dr. King as an activist, a prominent leader in the civil rights movement, and a pioneering historical figure. Throughout his lifetime, he spoke about justice, love, leadership, service, equality, freedom, and the hope and struggle for change.

He committed his life to creating change by advancing social justice and fighting discrimination to achieve equality for all people, and became a guiding light for change with his strong belief in creating a better country for all.

Today is a day to reflect on his words and his life.

Dr. King said, "We must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future. We have come a long, long way, but we have a long, long way to go."
