We are happy to welcome Jordan D. Hartman, MD, Family Medicine to the team at ARC South 1st. ARC Family Medicine doctors are primary care physicians that focus on the diagnosis and treatment of most general illnesses and injuries. At ARC, our family medicine doctors provide the most up-to-date diagnostic and treatment options available.
"My grandfather and uncle were family medicine doctors whose careers and lives inspired me growing up," shares Dr. Hartman. "My mother was a social worker, and my father fostered a love of science, all of which culminated in choosing family medicine for myself."
"My role models have all practiced holistic, integrated care, getting to know their patients in depth and how to best approach their health needs from an individual standpoint," says Dr. Hartman. "My training supplemented this approach with evidence-based medicine, enforcing strong scientific guidelines to ensure the most accurate decisions are made available to my patient."
Good health habits should be fun, not punishment
"Let's be proactive and positive about your health," says Dr. Hartman. "Too often we wait to address problems and then view the solutions as punishments." He continues, "It's much more fun to discover your new favorite healthy food or activity rather than always having to talk about eliminating the unhealthy. These positive changes will eventually replace the bad and lead to long-term growth."
Dr. Hartman says he spends his free time "Raising my toddler, spending time with my wife, playing guitar and going to live music, and generally staying active along the trails, creeks, and streets of Austin with friends and family."
