Effective June 6th, 2024, ARC begins sending text messages directly from our electronic medical record (EMR) system. Messages display the SMS code number 27903. We aim to improve patient communications and services by providing timely and convenient updates regarding billing, scheduling, appointment notifications, and more. You will continue to receive texts from other SMS code numbers and additional emails or mailed letters, depending on your communication preferences.
ARC's new text messaging allows both MyChart and Non-MyChart users to benefit from receiving text messages regarding various aspects of their care, including:
- Billing statements and balances
- Scheduling invitations and Fast Pass to schedule directly online via a link
- Appointment notifications such as missed appointments and requests to reschedule a visit
MyChart users will also receive text messages for:
- New test results, letters, or messages through MyChart
- Two-factor authentication codes for sign in
ARC will continue to send text messages from other SMS code numbers for:
- Appointment confirmations
- Patient registration and information updates
- Patient surveys
- Emergency messaging
- Pediatric health reminders
3 ways to opt in for text messaging
Most established ARC patients have previously consented to text messages and are automatically opted in. However, new patients and those for whom we do not have a current signed consent can still opt-in.
- By text: Send a text message with the word "START" to 27903 to opt-in.
- Through MyChart: Go to Your Menu > Communication Preferences to opt-in and customize your text message preferences.
- At your next call or visit: On the phone with registration or during check-in, let staff know you would like to opt-in for text messages, and they can assist.
We highly encourage you to remain opted-in to receive expanded text messages that are important for your care at ARC. If you choose to opt out of expanded text messages, you will continue to receive email or physical mail communications, based on your listed communication preferences. ARC billing will also send emails about balances and balance changes if you opt out of texts.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call ARC MyChart Support at 512-272-4357 (512-ARC-HELP) Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm, except holidays.
