Maria C. Scranton, MD, Pediatrician at ARC Round Rock, recently received the 2024 Mary Greene-Noble Special Achievement Award from the Texas Pediatric Society (TPS).
The TPS cited Dr. Scranton's advocacy in supporting children and families receiving Medicaid and CHIP benefits, and her continued leadership as a current and past co-chair of several TPS committees.
Marjan A. Linnell, MD, Pediatrics at ARC Kyle Plum Creek, received the award in 2023, for her advocacy efforts during the legislative session as a strong, powerful voice for children.
The award, given annually by the TPS, is presented to committee members who have made a significant contribution to the work of the society in their specific area of expertise, and are selected by a vote of the TPS Executive Board.
Both pediatricians represent ARC to the Texas Pediatric Society, along with many of their pediatric colleagues who are also members. The TPS says, "Without the advocacy pediatricians provide in child-specific health policies and public health initiatives to protect children, children would have fewer protections and services that improve child health outcomes."
We are grateful to our pediatricians for their continued advocacy and support of children and families, and congratulate Dr. Scranton and Dr. Linnell on this well-deserved honor!
