We are happy to announce that Ripa Chakravorty, MD, Cardiology, has joined the team at ARC Northwest Hills Specialty in Austin.
"I find greater satisfaction in the medical practice of a cardiologist as it involves the convergence of my clinical knowledge with critical thinking and use of cutting-edge technology to diagnose and treat complex problems," says Dr. Chakravorty. She continues, "It also calls for the ability to form and maintain a long-term relationship with my patients."
Using teamwork to create a comprehensive health plan
"I approach my patient's health as a team- which includes me, patient's PCP, other specialists, and most of all the patient and their family," says Dr. Chakravorty. "I always consider patient's current lifestyle, beliefs, and socioeconomic conditions to come up with an effective and comprehensive plan which includes medications, appropriate diagnostic, and interventional procedures, as well lifestyle changes which are attainable and can be continued long term."
When asked her best health tip for patients, Dr. Chakravorty replied, "Stay active and not sedentary, maintain a healthy weight. Limit sodium in diet and cut down processed foods as much as possible. Eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and lean meat and fish."
In her free time, Dr. Chakravorty enjoys spending time with her family, working out, listening to music and cooking. Dr. Chakravorty is relatively new to Central Texas, but is exploring and enjoying its landscape, trails, and the great food scene!
