ARC names two Associate Chief Medical Officers

Two experienced ARC physicians have been named Associate Chief Medical Officers as ARC expands its medical leadership to better serve its physicians, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), staff, and patients.

Over the next few years, ARC will add new primary care and specialty physicians and APCs, expand services, implement new technologies, and add two outpatient surgical facilities. This growth requires strong and experienced medical leadership as we continue to provide the Central Texas community with enhanced access to quality care.

Mark S. Ambler, MD, has been named Associate Chief Medical Officer for Primary Care and Christopher W. Bailey, MD, FACS, is the new Associate Chief Medical Officer for Surgical Specialties.

They join Manish M. Naik, MD, ARC Chief Medical Officer and Chief Medical Information Officer.

Dr. Ambler joined ARC in 2001. He currently serves as one of the Chiefs of the ARC Family Medicine Department and is on the ARC Executive Board. He has been the Medical Director of Senior Health Connect, ARC's Medicare Advantage program in partnership with agilon health. In addition, Dr. Ambler serves on the ARC Clinical Quality Committee and ARC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Committee, is a longtime volunteer physician for the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, and has been named a Texas Super Doctor® from 2017-2024.

Dr. Bailey has been with ARC since 2015 as part of the General Surgery Department. He has been an active member on the ARC Clinical Quality Committee, ARC EMR Committee, and ARC Peer Review Committee for several years and has been named one of Austin's Top Doctors by Austin Monthly magazine. Dr. Bailey is also the Surgical Director of the planned ARC Ambulatory Surgical Center North in Round Rock and the ARC Ambulatory Surgery Center South in South Austin.

"Dr. Ambler has served a critical leadership role for adult primary care over the last few years, and Dr. Bailey has been instrumental in coordinating with all our ARC surgeons in helping design the planned Ambulatory Surgical Centers," said Dr. Naik. "I am happy to announce their promotions to Associate Chief Medical Officers."

ARC now serves over 675,000 patients in 35 locations in 15 Central Texas cities.
