Austin Regional Clinic Breaks Ground On 20,000 Square Foot Clinic in Cedar Park

Existing Cedar Park Clinic To Be Renovated Into Stand-Alone Same-Day Care Center

-- Sustainable Construction Materials Manufactured Locally --

January 28, 2016 – Austin, Texas – To better meet the medical needs of the booming Cedar Park region, Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) is building a 20,000+ square foot clinic and converting its existing ARC Cedar Park location into a stand-alone clinic, opening Spring 2017, for same-day and expanded after-hours services. The two facilities will be located across from each other on East Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park.

All family medicine and pediatric care at ARC Cedar Park and ARC Discovery will transfer to the new clinic once the building is completed by year-end 2016. Internal Medicine, currently located at ARC Cedar Park Medical Plaza, will also transfer to the new location. The ARC Discovery location will close at the end of 2016.

ARC’s new clinic will be constructed using materials manufactured by Central Texas-based Bautex Systems, LLC, known for its innovative wall system used to construct energy efficient, healthier, safer, and more comfortable working environments. The proprietary Bautex Block, which makes up the concrete wall system, is manufactured from a mix of expanded foam plastic, cement and recycled materials. The lightweight blocks, while larger than traditional concrete masonry units, are strong enough to create wall systems for multi-story buildings, yet weigh about as much as an average suitcase. When filled with concrete, they offer unsurpassed energy efficiency, durability, fire resistance and noise mitigation. The new ARC clinic is the first medical facility in Central Texas to use this new material.

Said ARC CEO and Founder, Norman H. Chenven, MD, “Building a greener clinic is aligned with our commitment to raise healthy individuals, healthy families and healthy communities. We will also reduce our energy and operating costs, which simply makes good economic and environmental sense.”

Added ARC Cedar Park Clinic Manager Darlene Guynes, “We’re looking forward to having all of our primary care services in one new, larger building, with Same-Day Care, Lab and Radiology next door, as ARC continues to grow with the community.”
