About David I. Wartenberg, MD

  • Dr. Wartenberg is a “native Northeasterner” who made the south his home after graduating from medical school in Alabama, practicing first in Florida, then practicing and teaching at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans before joining ARC. He has a special interest in vitamin and nutritional deficiencies and minimizing multiple prescriptions to prevent uncomfortable and dangerous adverse drug reactions and drug interactions. In his free time, Dr. Wartenberg and his wife are enjoying exploring their new home city of Austin, hiking the trails, enjoying the outdoors, and looking forward to the return of the amazing music scene. He enjoys all forms of music and plays the piano. Dr. Wartenberg and his wife love animals and have three rescue dogs.

I chose family medicine because it allows me to care for the whole patient, not just  a single problem. It allows me to manage all of their problems that are within the scope of my practice, and to refer them to specialists as the need arises. The most important part of all this is helping the patient put all of the pieces together, to help them understand things and to help relieve their anxiety. My philosophy of practice is to treat my patients as I would treat my family, and with that as a guide, I feel I am doing right by them.

Dr W is one of the most thorough and caring physicians I’ve ever met.

  • November 29, 2022

Waited 1 hour to see doctor. Dr. Wartenberg is a very good doctor. I have referred him to several friends and family members. Three of them now have Dr Wartenberg as their primary care physician.

Good doctor who took his time

  • November 19, 2022

I didn’t have to spend 30 minutes filling out questionnaires. They helped me fill out my forms. The medical assistant was also very good at giving shots, I’ve gotten a lot and I didn’t even feel these.

The waiting time was very good and also I like that labs can be done there
