Patients, help us protect our high-risk patients - please wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms, a positive COVID-19 test, or COVID-19 exposure.

Renewing Medicaid Coverage Update

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government declared a public health emergency (PHE) and passed a law that allowed you to automatically keep your Medicaid coverage (continuous Medicaid). Based on the new federal law, continuous Medicaid eligibility will end on March 31, 2023, so you need to renew your benefits when it’s time to ensure your coverage will continue if you are eligible.

Patients should look for notices from HHSC in YELLOW envelopes that say "ACTION REQUIRED" in RED lettering. Notices will come in the mail and/or via portal if clients chose electronic notices. They should respond quickly when they receive it.

If you don’t respond to renewal or information requests from HHS, you could lose your coverage.

Actualización Sobre Renovando la Cobertura de Medicaid 

Como respuesta a la pandemia de COVID-19, el gobierno federal declaró una Emergencia de Salud Pública (PHE, por sus siglas en inglés) y aprobó una ley que le permitió a usted mantener automáticamente su cobertura de Medicaid (cobertura continua de Medicaid). Según la nueva ley federal, la elegibilidad para la cobertura continua de Medicaid se terminará el 31 de marzo, de 2023, por eso necesita renovar sus beneficios cuando se llegue el momento para asegurar que su cobertura va a continuar si usted todavía es elegible.

Pacientes deben buscar avisos de la HHSC en sobres AMARILLOS con el texto “ACCIÓN REQUERIDA” en letras ROJAS. Los avisos llegarán por correo y/o a través del portal en línea si los clientes eligieron recibir avisos electrónicos. Deberían responder con rapidez cuando lo reciban. 

Si no responde a las solicitudes de renovación o de información de la HHSC, podría perder su cobertura.

Theodore (Ted) P. Matthews, MBA, CPA, CGMA

Chief Financial Officer, ARC

Ted Matthews, MBA, CPA, CGMA, serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for ARC and related affiliates. As CFO, he has financial oversight for both organizations, and assists with strategic development. Mr. Matthews has served as a leader in medical practice financial management for over 25 years, with previous experience in finance and accounting with a major accounting firm, and as treasurer of a securities dealer.

ARC enjoys the blessings of an excellent reputation hard-earned through dedicated services to the people of Central Texas. It is our fiduciary duty to ensure that this reputation continues to be enhanced through leadership and innovation within our organization, our communities, and within the medical industry, through thoughtful stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.

    Mr. Matthews is an active member of the American Medical Group Association, America’s Physician Groups, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a presenter at both regional and national association conferences. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

  • Community leadership and volunteering

    Mr. Matthews serves as a board member and treasurer of Be the Bridge, a national nonprofit with a mission to equip the world to do the work of racial unity. He also serves on the finance committee of Austin Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit committed to providing affordable homeownership opportunities for hardworking, low-income families in Central Texas. Prior to joining ARC, Mr. Matthews served the Habitat for Humanity Trinity Chapter in Fort Worth, TX, for over 20 years as a Board Member, Treasurer, President, and volunteer.
